Frank Reynolds Results
Both the JD and High-School Thunderbirds athletes raced this past Saturday, October 14th, at the Frank Reynolds Memorial Cross Country Race in North Vancouver.
In the 14-15 year old women's category, Skye Higgins was the top Thunderbird, placing 7th overall in the 3km distance. She was followed by teammate, Makenna Baechler in 14th place.
Earning a silver medal in the 4.2km 16-17 year old division was Thunderbird athlete, Taylor Williams.
On the JD end, some athletes opted to race for their school teams, and some for the club. Elijah Clarke continued his dominating ways, winning the 2008 age category, with Harris Boomer following in 4th place. New Thunderbird youngster, Alice Barton placed second for the 2009 girls race. In the 2007 boys division, Michael Caddick took the win, with Miller Dabbs placing 3rd and Griffen Cole in 6th. The 2007 girls showed a Thunderbird dominance in the top 10, with Chloe Symon placing second, Ruby Forsyth third, Gabriella Barton in 4th, Kate Logan in 7th, and Chloe Van Schalkwyk rounding out the team in 10th. The 2006 boys were led by Kai Martland, who is having a fantastic Cross Country Season, continuously placing in the top 3 in his age group. He was 3rd on Saturday, followed by Jacob Leader in 6th and Liam Dawes-Forster in 15th. The 2006 Thunderbird girls were led by Libby Dabbs (3rd), Anna Kruk in 4th, and Coco Clement in 16th. Justin Verbanic was 7th overall for the 2005 boys, while teammate Brayden Horlock was 9th. Coming off a strong win in Portland at the Nike XC Pre National meet, Maya Baechler added another win to her undefeated streak this season, winning the 2005 girls race. She was followed by Clare Logan in 3rd, Madison Garbuz in 9th, Tori Aksmanovic (11th), and Norah Bradley in 14th.
