Thunderbirds Win 7 Gold Medals at Pinetree Classic Cross Country Race

On Saturday, September 15th the Vancouver Thunderbirds opened their cross country season in true cross country conditions (rain and mud!) at the 2018 Pinetree Classic at Mundy Park, in Coquitlam.

Thunderbirds performances were lead by intermediate Endurance runners, Ella Symon and Alexandra Campbell, as well as JD athletes Elijah Clarke, Maya Baechler, Gianluca Hawkey, Alice Barton, and Roman Simmons who all picked up wins in their respective age categories. The trio of Gabbi Barton, Chloe Symon and Kate Logan took 2nd to 4th place. Congrats also to Brayden Horlock on his 4th place finish, Francesco Hawkey on 6th and Charlotte and Ashlyn Ho and Emily Lints (first race as a Thunderbird!) on strong first races as well.

Other Thunderbird Intermediate Endurance runners also had a strong showings with Callum Campbell placing 4th overall (2nd in his age group), and Mckenna Baechler (6th).
